Belarus has proposed a joint venture with Pakistan to assemble electric buses, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties and promote green energy initiatives. The proposal was made by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko during his recent meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Minsk.

President Lukashenko emphasized the success of Belarus’s tractor industry, a key export to Pakistan, and expressed confidence in soon expanding its export volume. The two leaders also explored the potential for increased trade in utility vehicles, trucks, and quarry equipment.

The key highlight of the talks was the joint assembly of electric buses, a project that reflects Belarus’s commitment to sustainable transportation and its desire to deepen cooperation with Pakistan in the electric vehicle sector.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance industrial collaboration while supporting eco-friendly solutions in Pakistan’s growing urban transport needs. If realized, the joint venture could contribute significantly to local employment, technology transfer, and reduced carbon emissions.
