Belarus Company seeks participation in Punjab's bid for 600 Electric Buses

In a significant development for sustainable transportation, the Ambassador of Belarus visited the Transport & Masstransit Department in Punjab, where he held a productive meeting with the Minister and Secretary of the department. The discussion centered on the Belarus Electric Buses Company's interest in participating in the bidding process for an ambitious project to procure 600 electric buses in the province.

This initiative marks a crucial step by the Punjab government to tackle environmental challenges while enhancing public transport. The project aims to introduce eco-friendly solutions, particularly in the bustling provincial capital of Lahore. The move aligns with global trends towards greener urban mobility and reflects Punjab's commitment to sustainable development.

The Punjab Transport Company (PTC) has now advanced to the next phase of the project by inviting bids from reputable firms for the operation and maintenance of these electric buses. To qualify, interested companies must be registered with relevant tax authorities and submit their proposals online through the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) portal by November 4.

By facilitating this electric bus initiative, the Punjab government is not only promoting environmental sustainability but also striving to create a modern and efficient transport system. This project has the potential to significantly reduce emissions, improve air quality, and set a precedent for future eco-conscious initiatives in the region.
