SLM Tyre: The first overseas all steel Truck Bus Radial Tyre factory by Chaoyang LongMarch Company

First All-Steel Radial Truck & Bus Tyres Made Proudly in Pakistan, A Greenfield Project 

Introduction:
SLM is the first All-Steel Radial Tyre manufacturing facility of its kind in Pakistan with a complete transfer of technology from the commencement of the project. The project has been set up in Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (S.I.T.E), Nooriabad, Sindh. Commercial production of the project commenced in March 2022 with export to multiple countries.

A USD 300 million venture with a targeted production capacity of 2.4 million tyres per annum, the facility is being set up in three phases: phase 1 with annual tyre production of 0.74M, phase 2 of 1.2M, and phase 3 of 2.4M

 

JV Arrangement & Transfer of Technology:
SLM uses the latest technology known as All Steel Radial manufacturing with complete in-house research facilities and the capability to manufacture finished products from scratch.

For this purpose, Service Industries Limited (SIL) entered into a joint venture arrangement with Chaoyang Long March Tyre Co. Ltd, (LM), a leading Chinese manufacturer of all-steel truck & bus radial tyres and Myco Corporation Pakistan.

The Joint Venture Company bears the name Service Long March Tyres (PVT) Limited.
Contribution to National Exchequer

SLM will contribute around PKR 23 billion to the national exchequer by way of Custom Duties, Sales Tax and Income Tax during its initial 10 years of commercial operations.

 

Exports:
SLM is proudly exporting to the United States of America, and will soon be shipping tyres to other countries all over the world, with its next areas of focus being the European Union and Brazil. Yearly exports are expected to be around USD 70 million in its first year of commercial operations, which will gradually increase to USD 300 million.

Inauguration:
Service Long March Tyres (Pvt.) Limited was officially inaugurated on March 28, 2022 by the President of Pakistan H.E. Dr. Arif Alvi along with the Chinese Consul Mr Li Bijian, Governor State Bank of Pakistan Mr. Reza Baqir, and Chairman BOI Mr. M. Azfar Ahsan.

Simultaneously, a function was held in Long March China to celebrate the official inauguration of SLM.
