KTDMC hosts seminar on Japanese Management Techniques


Japanese Management Techniques like 5s, Kaizen, Suggestion Systems, QC Circles are very famous globally and these techniques proved that if applied systematically can boost productivity and can eliminate recurring losses.

Japanese Management techniques are the systematic and analytical methods used by managers to assist in decision making, the improvement of efficiency and effectiveness, and in particular the conduct of the two key managerial activities of planning and control.

In pursuance of its aim to enhance technical knowledge and to provide professional development to engineers and young managers Karachi Tools, Dies and Mold Center (KTDMC) a unit of PIDC Government of Pakistan arranged a full-day seminar on Japanese Management Techniques at their center.

At the opening of the workshop, Mansoor Ahmad CEO of KTDMC, IHT Farooqui, Facilitator and Organizer of the event and Ahsan Akbar Farooqui the main sponsor of the event welcomed the participants and briefed them about importance of the day session. 70 participants from Automobile Industry, Vendors, Academia and KTDMC attended this seminar.

The keynote speaker of the session was Tariq Ahmad Khan a Senior Director at Indus Motor Co. (Assembler of Toyota Brand Vehicles in Pakistan). Tariq having more than 28 years’ experience of managing Japanese Work culture in Pakistan in the domain of Production, Corporate Planning and Operations briefed the participants about these techniques in details.

Tariq Ahmad Khan briefed about the importance of Japanese Management Techniques and its applications in the industry. His full-day session was supported with Videos, Games, and interaction with participants proved very interesting. It helped the participants to understand Management Techniques to enhance productivity, minimize losses, and involve the team members in solving recurring losses.

IHT Farooqui delivered a lecture on Suggestion Systems and exchanged his experience of application of this system in a local industry where he was deputed by ILO as their Trainer and Consultant to help and assist a leading textile industry to improve their productivity.
