Mr. Derek Min studied at University of Birmingham, UK, from year 2008-2012 and got the Degree as Master of Engineering. His major field was Mechanical Engineering with Automotive. Then he joined a Company M/s: Changan Ford Automobiles Co., Ltd., as Chief Engineer of Power train system. He participated in the project developing of Kuga, Ecosport and Taurus. Now he is the General Manager, Chongqing Jeson Power Machinery Co., Ltd.
Derek Min in his exclusive interview with MOBILE WORLD informed that Chongqing Jeson Power Machinery Co. Ltd. established its factory in July 2012. They are the engine manufacturing experts. Presently they are manufacturing 150cc, 175cc, 200cc, 250cc and 300cc Water & Air Cooled Engines for Tri-Wheeler Motorcycles and Auto Rickshaws for local and export markets.
“Our engine specialty is its Crank Case size that is bigger than compared to others” he disclosed.
Chongqing Jeson Power Machinery Co., Ltd. is an innovative enterprise integrating with the “R&D, manufacture, sales and service” of environmental and energy-saving engine. The main future development direction of Jeson is to develop and produce the special engine for tricycle with high-power, slow revolving speed and high-reliability, Derek Min said.
He said that in order to continuously develop cost-effective products, the Company introduced the “whole project management” system, implemented the “concurrent engineering”, and adopted the APQP/PPAP+VA/VE management method for product development.
Under the guidance of meeting customer demands, with grasping three key factors “Scene, Fact and On-site Materials” and improving the quality as the core, the waste elimination process as the approach, as well as cost reduction and lean production as the goal, the Company adheres to the quality concept “Be serious, and do it right the first time.”
Replying to various queries Derek Min stated; our installed production capacity is three hundred thousand units per year. However, since 2012 we have assembled over 40,000 engines till date. There are no matching engines in size and performance in China as compared to our Jeson Power Engines.
Right now we are exporting 5 to 10 percent of our monthly production. Recently we have started export of engines to Pakistan. There we have established working relations with 5 different customers such as; Super Star, Sazgar, Super Power, New Asia and Stahlco. They have very strong market shares in Auto Rickshaw business.
We are exporting 200cc water cooled engines for Auto Rickshaw to Pakistan market, some customers demanding in SKD and some are in CKD form.
Replying about other products Mr. Derek Min disclosed that they are also exporting 70cc engines to Pakistan. “We have already exported over 15,000 engines CKD to Pakistan market from November 2014 to March 2015,” he said.
We have adopted all the quality and management systems in accordance with our business needs. We are properly managing inventory, purchase, production, sales, export and stock in professional manner, Derek Min concluded.
